It also comes with an option called smart mapping that uses multiple sensors to help determine the areas in your home that need attention and create a cleaning path around them. This technology is very effective in navigating around toys left on the floor or furniture legs sticking out from under things. Roomba also has a sensor that snaps Roomba to reality if it begins to drift away from its original location.

iRobot has also added a set of rollers underneath the Roomba that do not have bristles, and are therefore more likely to withstand knots than earlier models. They're also a bit taller than previous rollers and can better fit under beds and couches that are low, and they're designed to help this model navigate more easily on varying flooring types.

The Roomba 980 stands out from other models of high-end quality by its new dirt detection feature, which uses cameras to detect dirt embedded. Despite these minor shortcomings, the Roomba 980 remains one of our best robot vacuum mop hybrid-performing robots, and it's not even far from being as costly as the other top-of-the-line models on this list. It's still packed with a variety of features that we'd like to see in a top-of-the-line model however, it doesn't come with all the fancy apps or smart home integration that you'll find in other top contenders.

The iRobot Roomba is easy to set up and get up and running immediately.
