During testing the i3+ EVO cleaned our floors quickly and efficiently. It was able to easily move between rugs and carpets, and back again. It also had no problem getting over the wooden or metal trims that separate flooring types. It did get into a few items, such as bags, pet toys and shoes, but was able to navigate around them. It also missed a few areas of dirt on our carpeting, though it was able to pick up hairs from other areas.

It's not able to remove pet hair from carpeting and is not the best choice for those who want to replace their conventional vacuum cleaner with robotic. Additionally, it isn't equipped with the superior obstacle-avoiding capabilities of the top Roombas, such as the J7+ and S9+, which could make it more likely to run into pet waste and smear it all over flooring.

2. Roomba J7+

This is one of the top robot vacuums for those with the combination of hard floors and carpet. Its most prominent feature is its obstacle detection, which intelligently avoids cords, furniture legs as well as pet debris. It also does a great job at cleaning hard floors and removing long hairs that are stuck in the brush.

The i7+ is an interesting machine to watch. It follows a pattern similar to how a lawn care professional trims a field before an event. Occasionally, it will return to its dock to empty out its bin of dust or recharge its batteries. This feature, which enables the vacuum to empty itself, is a great addition that eliminates the necessity for manual maintenance.

It also has a large amount of suction power that can pull up pet hair and dirt effortlessly. Even on carpets with a high pile, it manages to pick up most debris with a single pass. It also can identify areas with a lot of traffic and stay there. This is especially helpful if you have kids and pets that often bring in large quantities of trash from outside.

Another great feature is Smart Mapping, which allows the i7+ to study the arrangement of your home and then create an individual floor map as it vacuums. After four one-hour sessions the i7+ was able to navigate my two-bedroom flat effectively and logically. The app lets you modify the map by adding virtual boundaries or giving the rooms names. You can set the i7+ up to clean the area around the cat's kitty litter tray every morning, or to stay clear of the sofa in the living room once everyone has gone home.

The eufy11s is one of the most affordable robot vacuums on the market and is a good pick if you need a simple and reliable machine. This model is able to remove pet hair and other particles effectively on both carpets with a low pile and hard floors and is also adept in maneuvering around furniture and obstacles. Its slim design is perfect for reaching underneath low-clearance couches and coffee tables as well as other furniture, and it's one of the quietest robovacs we've tested.

This is the most basic model we've seen. It lacks features found in higher-end models. There's no app for it, so you will need to manually set the timer by using the remote control.
