However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.

It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in just a few seconds.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and create more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra
